Gmail Contextual Gadget released

Those of you using Vtiger and Google Apps have something to be excited about. Today our Boru VT Integrator gadget was released.

The gadget looks at the sender's email address and tries to match it to entries in your Vtiger database. If a match is found, relevant data about the match is displayed right underneath your email. Otherwise, you can create a new Contact, Account, whatever right there.

It's free, with a paid version in the works.

If you're wondering why it requires access to subject and body, we're working on extracted phone numbers to pre-fill the record creation form.

    Hi

    I just added it to google apps. I can't get the related email or tasks on the plugin.

      Hi Ben,

      If the email has a linked contact in VTiger, the gadget will show the organization/contact info in the match tab. Then it will start to check the other (one to many) sections under that contact. If there are pending activities, a "Calendar" tab will appear and the activities will show there . If that contact has linked emails, the "Email" tab will appear and the emails will be listed there.

    FYI - We now have a Beta Chrome App for integrating Gmail with Vtiger. Our previous gadget only worked with google apps and was discontinued after google made changes. I like this gadget better -- it has all the features of the old one, but it is more efficient to have on the side versus on the bottom.

    We just released a new version with some great feature additions. My favorite is the ability to add a new activity in vtiger, linked to the contact, right from the Gmail email.
