vTiger 6 Updates: Projects

VTiger 6 has dramatically improved the project management capabilities that users can take advantage of.  vTiger 5.4 has very basic project management capabilities, so these changes are especially exciting!
Early screenshots of vTiger 6 indicated that there were to be 3 main views through which you can view the project information you need: tabular view, summary view, and detail view. What we have found instead is that when you click on a project, you are first taken to the Project Summary tab, which shows the status of a project’s tasks, milestones, documents, etc. You can easily edit any of the fields, and create new information directly from this screen.

Along the righthand side, there are different tabs below the Project Summary tab to choose from. Project Details gives more info on the project; Comments allows you to view past comments and create new ones; Project Tasks list out the tasks as well as who they were assigned to, start/end dates, and their progress; and the list continues. Most tabs are summarized in the Project Summary page, but you can see further detail and history on each individual screen.

Overall, Projects in vTiger 6 are much more dynamic than they have been in the past. Editing capabilities are excellent, and the organization makes it very easy to synthesize the information.
